Project Name: Tourist Activity Connectors for Global Leader

Challenge: A global leader in the bed bank sector located in Palma sought to enhance and expand its offering of tourist packages by including a wide range of destination activities, such as event tickets, excursions, and outdoor activities. The challenge was to standardize and develop new connectors with providers of these activities, ensuring efficient integration and management on their B2B and B2C platforms, overcoming the limitations of their previous system based on WebLogic AS and Oracle Database.

Implemented Solution

General Description: Arteco Consulting SL took the lead in this strategic project by developing and migrating a series of provider connectors to a modern microservices architecture with Spring Boot. This approach not only facilitated the integration of a diverse range of tourist activities into the client's portfolio but also significantly improved the flexibility and scalability of the system.

Technologies Used: Developments were carried out using Spring Boot, leveraging its agility for microservices development. For some connectors, development started from scratch, while others required migration from legacy systems based on Oracle WebLogic. Advanced traceability and observability systems were implemented to accurately monitor each reservation and its associated components, such as rooms, transfers, and activities.

Key Features: The solution provides standardization in communication with providers of tourist activities, allowing seamless integration of new services into the client's offering. The implemented traceability and observability systems offer a clear and detailed view of the status of reservations, enhancing the customer experience and internal management.

Results: The implementation of the new connectors and migration of existing ones has allowed the client to significantly expand its offering of activities in tourist destinations, reinforcing its position as a leader in the sector. Standardizing integration with providers has improved operational efficiency and the ability to scale the business, responding to market demand more agilely and with a more competitive offering.
